1. Who we are
J76 Woodworks is a small, one-person woodworking shop operated by Stephen Jahnke in Arena, Wisconsin. All products listed on this site are handmade wooden goods unless clearly stated otherwise.
2. Copyright and intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, product photos, logos, product designs, engravings, and layout — is owned by Stephen Jahnke / J76 Woodworks unless otherwise noted.
You may not copy, scrape, republish, sell, or use our photos, product designs, or written content for commercial purposes without written permission. Personal, non-commercial viewing and sharing a product link is fine.
3. Use of this website
By using this site you agree to use it lawfully. You may not:
Attempt to hack, scrape, or overload the site
Post false reviews or impersonate us
Use our images or product designs as your own
We may update product photos, prices, and descriptions at any time. Colors and grain will vary from photos because wood is a natural material.
4. Handmade products — important
Every piece is made by hand from real wood (including live-edge, reclaimed, and selected hardwoods).
Grain, color, knots, checks, and natural edges will differ from piece to piece and from the photos. That is not a defect.
Dimensions are approximate.
Finishes can change slightly with humidity, sunlight, and use.
Cutting boards, utensils, and kitchen items require proper care (oil/wax as appropriate; do not soak or run through a dishwasher unless we specifically say a piece is safe for that).
Custom engraving is made to your request. Please double-check spelling, dates, and names before we start. Once production begins on a custom item, changes or cancellations may not be possible.
5. No professional advice
Nothing on this site is legal, medical, or professional advice. Product descriptions are for general information only.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
Except as required by law or as we expressly state in writing (for example, making a piece right if it arrives damaged or not as described):
Products are sold as is. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose to the fullest extent allowed by Wisconsin law.
Wood moves. Finishes wear. Handmade work is not factory-identical. You accept that.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, J76 Woodworks and Stephen Jahnke are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of this site or our products (including lost profits, property damage beyond the product itself, or claims by third parties).
Our total liability for any claim related to a product or this site will not exceed the amount you paid for that product.
Some states do not allow certain limitations. If those laws apply to you, some of the above may not apply in full.
8. Third-party services
This site may be hosted on Shopify and may use payment processors, shipping carriers, and analytics or advertising tools. Their terms and privacy practices apply to data they collect. We do not control those services.

Links to other sites are for convenience only. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
10. Governing law
This notice and any dispute related to the website or products sold through it are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes shall be in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

We may update this Legal Notice at any time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised notice.
