Walnut and Spalted maple wall cross

Handcrafted Walnut & Spalted Maple Wall Cross

This one-of-a-kind wall cross combines the rich, dark grain of American walnut with the natural character of spalted maple. The solid walnut backing provides a strong, elegant foundation, while the lighter spalted maple overlay creates the classic cross form with its distinctive dark lines and organic markings—each piece of spalted maple is unique, shaped by natural processes that no two boards share.

The maple elements sit raised from the walnut base, giving the cross depth and dimension that catches the light and draws the eye. Clean lines and careful joinery highlight the contrast between the two woods without unnecessary ornamentation. Finished smooth and ready to hang, it’s a simple, lasting piece suitable for a home, entryway, office, or as a meaningful gift.

Because the spalting pattern is natural and one-of-a-kind, the exact markings on your cross will vary slightly from the photo while maintaining the same balanced proportions and wood pairing. Handcrafted in small batches at J76 Woodworks.
